James Bond’s Favorite Casino Games
There is no person in the world that haven’t heard of the most famous spy in the world. James Bond movies are a unique kind of cinematic experience designed for all generations. No matter how old the movies are, they are just becoming better with time. Truth to be told, James Bond films are just like wine, the older the better they get.
For you who don’t know, the character of James Bond is based on the novels by Ian Fleming. Double-O-seven is a fictional character, but the real-life James Bond also existed. James Albert Bond was a part of the inspiration for the fictional Bond as the Institute of National Remembrance revealed in 2020. This Bond was a British diplomat who worked in Poland. He died in 2005.
Baccarat
Baccarat is one of the casino games that appears often in the James Bond movies. It also appears in our Casino Yabby, so feel free to check it out. The urban legend is that baccarat is the game of the high rollers. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that it was also often described as a favorite game of Napoleon. Baccarat is a card game played between two hands. The end of the game is to reach the 8 total. Landing 9 on the first two cards is known as ‘natural’. If you get ‘the natural’, you have experienced the highlight of the game. It appears in a lot of Bond movies, but the most famous ones with baccarat are ‘Dr. No’ and ‘Thunderball’.
Films:
Dr. No (1962)
Dr. No is a movie from 1962 that is based on a little older novel (1958) with the same title. The leading roles in the movie are played by Sean Connery and Ursula Andress. These actors are, with no exaggeration, one of the best in the business. They both are very talented and charismatic. Also, we cannot deny that they are extremely beautiful, all things considered. Dr. No is one of the James Bond classics in which he investigates the disappearance of one of the British agents in Jamaica.
Thunderball (1965)
Thunderball is one more James Bond movie in which the game of the baccarat appears. This movie is released after Dr. No and it was done by the same crew but without Ursula Andress. The plot is here basically the same, with a few changes. To be honest, the plot is similar in all the Bond movies. Yet, we are not watching them because we want to be surprised by the weird development and storyline. Again, Bond is traveling to the Bahamas to save the world from the atomic explosion. To find out what happens next, watch the movie!
Texas Hold ‘em Poker
Who doesn’t like to play poker especially Texas Hold’em version? This is one of the most popular variants of the poker game. The game functions like this. First, two cards are being dealt face down to each player. Second, five cards are dealt face up in three stages. After that, players are trying to make the best five-card poker hand from these 7 cards. James Bond also played Texas Hold’em in the Casino Royale movie. We bet you would die to find out his poker strategy!

Casino Royale (1967)
Casino Royale is, in fact, a parody of the James Bond movies. More generally, it is a parody of the spy movies that have been filmed a lot in the first decades after World War II. In 2006, a new James Bond movie titled Casino Royale with Daniel Craig as a leading role came out, and this time there was no parody in it. So, you decide what you want to watch more, and you won’t make a mistake.
Blackjack
One more card game is among James Bond’s favorites. Blackjack is all about being better than the dealer. Your total must be higher than the dealer’s and you shouldn’t go over the 21 when the dealer does. Everything in blackjack is rotating around the number 21. To learn more about blackjack check our blog. Nevertheless, the maximum number of players is 7. Before you start playing you need to buy a chip from the dealer. In which movie is our Double-O-seven playing blackjack? The answer is: Licence to kill!
Film
Licence to Kill (1989)
This time James Bond is portrayed with the help of the famous actor Timothy Dalton. This is the sixteenth movie in the Bond series. This time Agent 007 is pursuing the drug lord who killed his best friend’s wife at their wedding. Licence to Kill is the first movie in the series that didn’t use the title from Ian Fleming’s novels. Its plot is also majorly original and not based on the novels.
